Wind energy
Wind power plants harness wind energy, converting it into electricity through turbines, transforming the kinetic force of air currents into clean and renewable energy.
Wind energy in numbers
With over 41 wind farms in Europe, we serve almost 741,000 families with renewable energy. This is a long-term commitment that makes us responsible, starting from the project idea and for the entire life of the plants we build.

Facts
- Wind energy allows for the harnessing of the wind’s kinetic energy, transforming it into electrical energy through the use of wind turbines. The latter are designed and built to be set in motion by the wind; their rotation is transmitted to a shaft which is in turn connected to an electrical energy generator.
- The renewable energy sector, and wind energy in particular, is undergoing a phase of global growth, thanks to progressively reducing investment costs, an increase in the demand for electrical energy, and an ever-greater attention to issues of climate change and pollution. In recent years, there has been strong technological development, which has allowed for the creation of increasingly high-performing wind turbines with a reduction in plant costs and the energy produced.
