Facts
Photovoltaic power plants, also known as solar power plants, generate electricity by converting sunlight directly into electrical energy through photovoltaic cells. They are a renewable and sustainable energy source that reduces reliance on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions.
PV power plants range in size from small rooftop installations to large utility-scale facilities, with the largest plants producing hundreds of megawatts of electricity. They are becoming increasingly cost-competitive with traditional energy sources, and their maintenance costs are relatively low. PV power plants can be installed in a variety of locations, and they provide reliable and stable electricity supply with minimal environmental impact.
The FRI-EL Group currently has 12 photovoltaic plants with 81 MWp of installed capacity, most of them are in Romania.

Advantages
UNLIMITED AVAILABLE SOLAR ENERGY THAT IS DIRECTLY CONVERTED INTO ELECTRICITY. THIS REDUCES DEPENDENCE ON FOSSIL FUELS AND AVOIDS GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS.
PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS REQUIRE LOWER OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE COSTS COMPARED TO OTHER ENERGY SOURCES. IN ADDITION, THEY ARE INDEPENDENT OF POWER SUPPLIERS AND THUS OFFER A SAFE AND STABLE ENERGY SUPPLY.
BY CREATING JOBS, PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS PROMOTE THE LOCAL ECONOMY. IN ADDITION, THEY HAVE LOW IMPACTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE HEALTH OF PEOPLE AND ANIMALS.
