What they are

Sea Power energy is based on the exploitation of marine currents – be they tide or permanent – and of river currents. The natural water motion makes a turbine turn, and this produces kinetic energy.
The kinetic energy is afterwards transformed into electric energy.

The oceans and rivers offer an enormous energetic potential, wholly renewable. The sea motion is constantly strong and shows a superior kinetic strength, since water is 832 times denser than wind.

Key regions with tidal energy potential

The world map below shows the key areas with high potential for tidal energy generation. These include regions such as Western Europe, Australia, North and South America, China and Russia.
