Who we are

FRI-EL Sea Power is a project by FRI-EL Green Power S.p.A.

The project idea was conceived by Josef Gostner, vice-president and CEO of FRI-EL Green Power, in cooperation with Prof. D. Coiro and the ADAG research team of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Naples "Federico II".

The oceans offer an enormous potential of energy and are close to many - or more precisely - densely populated areas in the world, which, of course, represent big energy markets. According to scientists, marine energy has the potential to provide the world with a considerable quantity of renewable energy. In fact, the difficulties and conflicts over land use limit the possibilities for addressing energy demands with non-renewable sources alone. Therefore, it will be necessary to implement the big renewable energy projects in unpopulated areas, preferably in the seas.
